The “Empowerment for Pandemias – Learning from CoVid19” project kicks off on April 1, 2022. Over the next three years, the project will be funded with a total of 334,886 Euros under the EU’s Erasmus+ program. The overall project management is under the responsibility of Ass.-Prof. Dr. Margit Raich.

The project focuses on developing a vocational training and further education program for public health professionals and decision-makers. The goal is to strengthen individual and organizational resilience in times of crisis. Experiences and knowledge gathered around CoVid19 will be incorporated into the training program. The implementation is carried out in collaboration with the University of Gloucestershire, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, European Academy Bolzano, Hafelekar Corporate Consulting Schober GmbH, and the Portuguese partner Immersive Lab Ltd.

Based on empirical research around Covid19, the project team will define the necessary competencies that significantly strengthen individual and organizational resilience, and subsequently operationalize these into innovative learning experiences.

For this purpose, a mix of various learning environments will be used. With the establishment of an assessment tool, individual and organizational resources can be evaluated. Furthermore, the partners are developing a web-based training program that allows for self-determined learning through micro-learning units. These will be complemented with online seminars and in-person sessions. A focus is on developing simulated crisis case studies, based on real incidents, which help participants learn more efficient ways of dealing with complex problem solutions and coping strategies.
